This year marks World AIDS Day under the theme No One Left Behind—a call to remember those who have died and to honour the lives of people living with HIV today.
The memorial will bring together community to reflect on the ongoing impact of HIV and to stand in solidarity with those most affected. Through stories, music, and ceremony, we will recognise the resilience of marginalised and underrepresented communities—including First Nations peoples, migrants, women, and trans and gender diverse people—who remain at the heart of the HIV response.
The candle-lighting ceremony, conducted by Marg Hayes, is at the heart of the event, symbolising remembrance, solidarity, and a shared commitment to equity so that no one is left behind.
